Protective styling 101

Protective styling, as most of my readers probably know focuses mostly on preserving the integrity of your hair strands by keeping them in a state that reduces daily manipulation.

I love styling my hair by itself and suffer from major hand-in-hair disease. I have been known to leave home with my hair in one style and return in a different one. It is therefore always a good idea to have my hair neatly braided or in a weave/wig.

Current situation: Braids.

Duration: 6-8 weeks.

Routine: Daily spritz with a homemade mix of water, conditioner, 5-10 drops of peppermint oil, 5-10 drops of teatree oil and coconut oil.

Wash once every 2 weeks.

Apply JBCO mix to my edges 2ce a week.

Expected Outcome: Hoping for some major retention and progress at my edges upon takedown.

Welcome to my blog

Why?
To track the progress of my hair, with focus on my edges.

How?
By paying close attention to the amount of pressure I put on it.

I have been taking care of my hair for about a year with my focus being on length and health. I recently noticed that my edges which hitherto were full and robust are now sparse.

This blog would chronicle my effort to recover them.

Welcome on board this journey with me.
